Does God have to prove that the Bible is true?
God is under no obligation to prove the Bible's truthfulness. He is sovereign, and because He has spoken, He has every right to expect mankind to believe it. Scripture states that without faith it is impossible to please God, so proof is not the basis for pleasing Him.
Les explains that the reason people are turned off by Christianity and spiritual things is that they are destitute of faith. They can no longer believe this is the Word of God; being intellectually and scientifically minded, they say unless you can prove some of these things, they cannot believe. But Les stresses that God doesn't have to prove anything. God is sovereign; He has spoken it, and He has every right to expect mankind to believe it. Consequently, without faith there is no way to please Him, just as Esau could not please Him without faith.
