Why can't a person believe some of the things in the Bible unless they're convinced it's God's Word?
Some biblical truths are so far beyond human comprehension that a person cannot believe them unless fully convinced the Bible is God's Word. The unbeliever cannot comprehend these things, but believers who take God at His Word can, because faith is documented evidence, not blind faith.
Les explains that some things in Scripture are simply so far beyond human comprehension that a person cannot believe them unless he is positive this is the Word of God. He says there is so much in the Book to prove its validity that he does not have to doubt. Someone might call that blind faith, but he insists it is not blind; his faith is documented, and that is what the Word is all about. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen, and by faith the elders obtained a good report. Through faith, by simply taking God at His Word, believers can understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God. The unbeliever cannot comprehend this, but believers can. God spoke, and it all came into being.
