Why is understanding the Abrahamic Covenant necessary for understanding the New Testament and the Middle East?

Understanding the Abrahamic Covenant is necessary because the New Testament, the Age of Grace, prophecy, and the Middle East cannot be rightly understood without it. The entire Middle East situation rests on what is recorded in Genesis concerning God's promises to Abraham and all that covenant entails.

Les explains that unless a person understands the Abrahamic Covenant and all that it entails, it is very hard to understand the New Testament, the Age of Grace, prophecy, and the Middle East. He stresses that the whole Middle East situation rests upon what is back in Genesis. He also points to the timeline: God promised Abraham that from His call to go to the land of Canaan until Israel would be a nation coming out of Egypt would be 430 years. God delineated exactly 430 years, and the exact middle is when Israel begins her sojourn in Egypt—215 years elapsed before that sojourn even began. This corrects the impression that the Israelites were in slavery and bondage for the whole 400 years.
