Why is Hebron under constant controversy between Arabs and Jews?

Hebron is under constant controversy between Arabs and Jews because both claim Abraham as their father and associate themselves with the burial place of Mephila. It is the burial place of Abraham and Sarah, and likely Isaac and Rebekah, and both Jews and Arabs want to worship and pray at the cave of Mephila.

Les explains that Hebron remains a valid city in Palestine and is under constant controversy because of this family relationship. He notes Hebron is the burial place of Abraham and Sarah, and he thinks Isaac and Rebekah too. The Arabs claim Abraham as their father and associate themselves with the burial place of Mephila, and Israel does likewise. Les recalls a big upheaval in Hebron over the cave of Mephila, where Jews and Arabs both like to worship and pray. It all comes back to the Book of Beginnings and is still evident in the Middle East today.
