Why does God have a controversy with religious Jews today?
God's controversy with religious Jews today centers on their refusal to recognize Jesus as the Christ. They readily give glory to the God of Abraham and remain religious, yet they are still blinded and in unbelief, unable to acknowledge that Jesus was the Christ. That refusal is the issue God has with them.
Les explains that a religious Jew today does not have trouble giving glory to God or elevating the God of Abraham. The problem, however, is that they will not recognize the Christ. That is where they remain blinded and in unbelief; they cannot recognize that Jesus was the Christ. Even though they give glory to God and are religious, and even though they had been practicing temple worship for three and a half years, they still did not recognize the Christ. Les maintains that this remnant, under God's protection, will flee to the mountains, but as yet in unbelief, and God's sovereign will is going to be providential.
