According to Romans 3:9, are Jewish people better than Gentiles?
No. Romans 3:9 declares that Jews are not better than Gentiles, because Paul says, “No, in no wise,” since both Jew and Gentile have been proved to be all under sin. God set Israel apart, but in the final analysis it proved there is no difference.
Les explains that in Romans chapter 3, verse 9, Paul is speaking as a Jew and asks, “Are we Jews better than they Gentiles?” The answer is, “No, in no wise,” because he had already proved both Jew and Gentile to be all under sin. When God set Israel apart and made them different, in the final analysis it proved there is no difference. Les also points back to Romans 3:1–2, where Paul asks what advantage the Jew had or what profit there was in circumcision. The answer is much every way, chiefly because unto the Jewish people, the Israeli nation, were committed the Word of God. God gave them the priesthood, the worship, the civil law, and the whole system of law. But practically, Les says, it accomplished nothing. Paul by inspiration brings us to the conclusion that even though they were different, it simply proved that the old Adamic nature is just as evident in the son of Abraham as it is in a Gentile. There is no difference.
What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
