Why are Jews not better than Gentiles according to Romans 3:9?

Romans 3:9 declares Jews are not better than Gentiles because Paul had already proved both Jew and Gentile are all under sin. Israel's God-given advantages—the Word, priesthood, worship, and law—did not change the old Adamic nature, proving there is no difference.

Les explains that in Romans 3:9 Paul, speaking as a Jew, asks whether Jews are better than Gentiles and answers, “No, in no wise,” because both have been proved all under sin. Although God set Israel apart as a separated holy people, gave them the Word of God, priesthood, worship, civil law, and the whole system of law, Les says it accomplished practically nothing. In the final analysis, their difference only proved that the old Adamic nature is just as evident in the son of Abraham as in a Gentile. Therefore, there is no difference.
