Does God appear or speak visibly today the way He did in the Old Testament?

No. In this age of grace, compared to God's Old Testament dealings, it is as if God is silent. Believers today do not expect angels to appear or God to visibly manifest as He did then. God does not expect us to be prepared for such visible appearances.

Les explains that Sir Robert Anderson emphasized that when we enter the age of grace, compared to God's Old Testament dealings, it is as if God is silent. Les notes we just don't expect angels to appear. He illustrates that if he saw a bunch of angels on the highway at 11 o'clock at night, he couldn't take it, and neither could we. If God suddenly appeared as He did in the Old Testament, it would crack us up; we're not prepared for that, and God doesn't expect us to be. So indeed, God is silent today compared to those days. Les also points out that God even appeared to pagan Pharaoh to reveal that Sarah was Abram's wife, showing God did speak directly in that era. But today, in the age of grace, such visible appearances and direct speech are not the norm.
