Why can Scripture be taken logically even though it is taken by faith?
Scripture can be examined logically because it contains much pure science that most people overlook. Although it is accepted by faith, its scientific side often allows logical study, as with the Hebrew word Sela, meaning side or side chamber, not merely rib.
Les explains that he likes to take this Scripture as logically as possible, while recognizing that we also take it by faith. He does not want anyone to say Scripture cannot be taken logically, because he thinks a lot of times we can, especially from the scientific side. He notes there is so much pure science in Scripture that most people miss. As an example, the word rib in Hebrew is Sela, and about nineteen times, if he is not mistaken, it is translated side, or especially when referring to the ark, chambers. He likes to use the side chamber because they all come out of the same root. Read that way, the Lord caused a deep sleep on Adam, took a side chamber, closed up the flesh, and made the woman.
