What does Romans 10:9-10 say is necessary to be saved?

Romans 10:9-10 says salvation requires confessing with the mouth the Lord Jesus and believing in the heart that God raised Him from the dead. Scripture promises that those who do so shall be saved. This confession and belief are the Gospel message.

Les explains that Romans 10:9-10 is the Gospel. He reads it as: if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. He connects this to the Gospel he received and delivered: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. That death, burial, and resurrection is what heart-belief and mouth-confession rest upon.

Romans 10:9
