What does it take to bring the Gospel into your own experience?

Bringing the Gospel into personal experience requires the whole person: hearing it, thinking about it, comprehending it, and verbalizing it. Scripture asks how people can call on Him without believing, believe without hearing, or hear without a proclaimer. So the Gospel must be proclaimed, and believers need someone sent to explain the Scriptures.

Les explains that bringing the Gospel into experience involves the whole complex human being: we hear it, think about it, comprehend it, and then use the mouth and verbalize it. He ties this to the Scripture asking how they can call on Him in whom they have not believed, believe in Him of whom they have not heard, or hear without a proclaimer. Les notes the Greek word is better rendered 'proclaimer' than 'preacher'; we have to proclaim the Gospel, not necessarily preach, because tradition can distort preaching into being exercised, stomping, and yelling. Ephesians 2 says, 'How beautiful are the feet of them that proclaim the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things.' God revealed the Gospel through the Apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit to put it in print, but by and large most people have to have someone explain the Scriptures.
