Where will every person spend eternity?
Every human being is an eternal being and will spend eternity in one of two places: either in God's presence, received by believing the gospel, or forever separated from God, which is the second death, because of rejecting the gospel and disobedience. This is why understanding God's plan of salvation matters.
Les explains that when God breathed into man the breath of life, man became a living soul, and “living” means more than 70, 80, or 90 years; it means eternal. Every human being is therefore an eternal being who will live in eternity someplace. The plan of salvation God made is available and free, so that by simply believing the gospel a person can live eternally in God's presence. By rejecting the gospel and being disobedient, a person will live forever separated from God. That separation from God is by definition the second death, unless one is united to Him by faith in the gospel.
