What did the three persons of the Trinity agree to do?
The triune God counseled together in eternity past and agreed to create the universe and set everything in motion, including placing one small planet like a speck within it. They did not need lengthy deliberation, yet in counseled agreement they determined this plan.
Les explains that when nothing yet existed, the triune God held a counsel. He points to Acts 2:23, where Peter on Pentecost says Christ was delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, showing that the Godhead had a meeting of minds in eternity past. Les emphasizes they did not need to deliberate for half an hour, yet the Trinity came together in counseled agreement and set everything in motion. They agreed to create the universe and to put one little planet down there, just like a speck in the midst of it.
