Why is Paul called the apostle of the Gentiles?

Paul is called the apostle of the Gentiles because his church letters are directed primarily to Gentiles in the Body of Christ, revealing their heavenly position. While God dealt with Israel, Gentiles were destitute of God's Word, but Paul's epistles are written to the Gentile, not to the Jew under Law.

Les explains that all during the time God dealt primarily with the nation of Israel, the Gentiles were out there destitute of any of the Word of God. But when you come to this side, Paul becomes the apostle of the Gentiles. His church letters are directed primarily to Gentiles in the Body of Christ, our heavenly position. Les notes that the Jew today has a hard time comprehending Paul and avoids him like a plague because Paul's writings are not written to the Jew but to the Gentile. So always keep that in mind when reading these things.
