Why did God raise up the Apostle Paul as the apostle of the Gentiles?

God raised up Paul as the Apostle of the Gentiles because Israel continued to reject Christ through the crucifixion. Paul became God’s spokesman for the Gentiles during this period, after God had predominantly dealt with Israel from Genesis 1 until the conversion of Saul of Tarsus.

Les explains that through the crucifixion Israel continued to reject Christ, so God then raised up the Apostle Paul as the Apostle of the Gentiles. Paul became the spokesman for God during this period, and Les notes that many people miss this transition. Everything from Genesis 1 up until the conversion of Saul of Tarsus was predominantly God dealing with Israel, which highlights why Paul’s ministry to the Gentiles marks a distinct phase in God’s program.
