Where do we find the whole package of revealed truth the Church needs today?
It is found exclusively in the epistles of the Apostle Paul. His writings contain the complete body of revealed truth needed by the Church today, so no other source is required for that truth, though the rest of Scripture is not to be discarded.
Les explains that this whole package is the revelation of the mystery, or secret, that God kept hidden since before anything was created. Jesus and Peter could not preach it because it remained totally secret in the mind of God. But because the price of redemption was paid, the work of the cross was accomplished, and because of the power of His resurrection, God can now pour out this whole package on the human race. It comes from the pen of the Apostle Paul, and in it the Church has all the truth it needs today. Les clarifies that this does not mean throwing away the rest of the Bible, for all the Bible works toward its common end. He suggests that if Christendom spent 90% of its time in Paul’s epistles and 10% in the rest of the Bible, things would begin to happen, but it is the other way around.
Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
