Are believers safe in the midst of the wickedness on earth?
Yes. Believers are safe and secure because their life is hid in God and in Christ, a threefold position nothing can touch. Even amid earth's wickedness, they are positioned in Christ and safe, as Israel under the Passover blood and Noah in the pitch-lined ark.
Les teaches that Old Adam is dead, and God reckons the old sin nature of believers as dead. The life believers have is hid in God and in Christ. This is the threefold position of the believer: in Christ and in God, a glorious, safe, secure place nothing can touch. Les uses the black walnut analogy to illustrate safety deep within. He also points to Israel on Passover night: the death angel brought wailing across Egypt, but the Jews were safe because the blood was on the door. Likewise, Noah and his family were safe in the ark while the flood demolished everything, because the wooden ark was lined with pitch, and pitch in Hebrew meant atonement. So believers in the midst of wickedness on earth are in Christ and safe, with nothing to worry about, as Paul says not to worry about the one who can destroy the body but cannot destroy the soul.
