Where are believers positioned even while living on earth?

Les explains that believers are no longer under the spirit of bondage and fear, as Israel was when they feared being stoned for picking up sticks on Saturday. Instead, Paul says believers have received the Spirit of Adoption, whereby we cry Abba Father. Les compares this to a Greek or Roman tutor preparing a child to become an adult son ready to step in and be co-equal with the Father, not coming in like a little puppy dog afraid of Old Dad, but as a prepared young man ready to work alongside the Father. Les says that is where we are: by virtue of the work of the Cross, God can place us as a full, completely tutored son of God, and we can come right in alongside Him. That is our position. Though we are here on earth under the curse and up against what the rest of the world faces, and many are blind to it, in faith we can see we are already in that exalted position in the heavenlies and already joint heirs with Christ. Ephesians is a book of position, and someday, if the Lord tarries, they will go into it after Galatians.
