What do we have under grace compared to the law?
Under grace, believers have something far better than the law: the righteousness of the law can be fulfilled in them as Grace Age believers through the power of the Holy Spirit. The law was holy and perfect but weak, having no power to help mortal man keep it.
Les explains that the law was holy and perfect, yet it had no power within itself to help the law keeper keep it. It became weak, beggarly, and a yoke that Israel chafed under, because man in the flesh could not keep it. Under the grace economy, however, believers have something far better. The righteousness of the law, perfect from God’s point of view, can now be fulfilled in us as Grace Age believers, and this is possible because of the power of the Holy Spirit.
