Les Feldick Bible Study

When did the conflict between man and God begin, and what happened to Adam's spirit or fellowship with God?

Man's conflict with God began when Adam acquired the original sin nature. At that point Adam’s spirit—the place of fellowship with God—was completely put out of commission and made dormant. As a result, humanity has no means of communicating with God and is described as an enemy of God.

Les teaches that the devil continually tells the human race to do the opposite of what God has instructed. That conflict between man and God has continued ever since Adam became the original sin nature. Adam’s spirit, or the place of fellowship, was completely put out of commission and made dormant. People still live in a body of flesh and blood and bone operating through the five senses, with the old personality—the sin nature—operating, and no way to communicate with God. Les explains that the only prayer of an unbeliever God hears is a call for salvation, because Romans 8 makes plain the lost person is an enemy of God with no means of communication.
