Does Les claim to be above error or expect everyone to agree with him?
No. He openly states he is human and not above error, and he does not expect everyone to agree with him on everything. He remains uncompromising only on fundamentals such as Christ's identity, virgin birth, Creatorhood, atoning work, resurrection, and return.
Les explains that he takes the responsibility of teaching seriously and would fear misleading anyone to the place of missing heaven's glory, but he has not felt guilty of that because many have written and called expressing the joy of salvation, which he views as God's approval on the ministry. He says he presents the Word as close to the truth as is humanly possible and would be scared to death of presenting error. Yet he admits, "I'm human, I'm not saying I'm above error," and says he does not expect everyone to agree with him on everything. On fundamentals, however—who Christ is or was, that He was virgin born, that He is God the Creator, that His atoning work of the cross completed every bit of God's requirement for salvation, that He rose from the dead, and that He is coming again—he will never compromise, preferring even to return to the ranch. If he sounds bold at times, this is why.
