What right does God have over someone who rejects the work of the cross?

God has every right to consign those who spurn the work of the cross to a lost eternity. Because He gave heaven’s best, sent His Son to suffer and die and rise again, rejecting that sacrifice leaves nothing else God can do. His hands are tied, and after death comes judgment.

Les explains that those who cannot understand the work of the cross, and how much God literally gave up on our behalf, are the ones who question God’s justice. God gave the best that all of heaven and the Godhead contained, sent His Son through 33 years among sinful men, and He went to the cross, suffered, died, and arose from the dead. When people respond that it is not enough, God gets upset. Les says that when that sacrifice is spurned, God has every right that you can imagine to consign people to a lost eternity. He hates to see people lost, but he cannot make excuses for them, because God suffered to such an extent for the salvation of everyone that when they spurn it, there is nothing else God can do. His hands are tied; He cannot give a second chance. It is appointed unto man once to die, and after that the judgment.
