What kind of promise did God make to Abraham and his seed?

God promised Abraham and his seed that everyone who would put their trust in what He had accomplished would be His for all eternity. Every believer would be His forever, and no one could ever take them from Him. The promise secured eternal belonging for all who trust.

Les explains that believers, like Isaac, are children of promise. He contrasts Ishmael's physical descendants, who outnumber the Jews 50 to 1, with the promise given to Abraham. The promise is that everyone who would put their trust in what He had accomplished would be His for all eternity. God made the promise that every believer would be His for all eternity. He didn't die in vain, and though the multitude may be smaller than expected, believers are His, and no one can ever take them from Him.

Galatians 4:28

Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
