Have Christians been set free from all legal systems and rules about what they can't do?

Yes. Believers have been set free from every legal system and from rules saying 'you can't do this' or 'you can't do that.' That freedom is not license; under grace, through the Holy Spirit's power, Christians can live pleasing to God without external rules and regulations.

Les teaches that this freedom is not license. So far as being confined to any legal system or any idea of 'you can't do this, you can't do that,' believers have been set free from all of it. Now, through the power of the Holy Spirit—something the law had nothing of—those under grace can live and be pleasing in God's eyes without rules and regulations telling them what they can or cannot do. He says this is the whole idea of the little letter. He also illustrates from Roman and Greek culture: a legal son and heir, while still a child, differs nothing from a slave, though he is lord of all, until he finishes his time of tutoring.
