What does the Holy Spirit do when He baptizes believers into Christ?

By one Spirit, the Holy Spirit baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. This is not a water baptism; it is His invisible work, placing believers into a new resurrected personage and into relationship with Christ. All believers—Jew or Gentile, bond or free—are made one in that Body.

Les teaches from I Corinthians 12:13 that by one Spirit we are all baptized. He stresses that this is not water baptism; there is not a drop of water in the verse. Instead, it is the Holy Spirit’s work in the invisible realm, placing the believer now into that new resurrected personage and into relationship with Christ in the Body of Christ. Therefore all believers are baptized into one Body. It makes no difference whether Jew or Gentile, bond or free; there is no color line in the Body of Christ, and all are one in Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:13

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
