Do you feel the Holy Spirit baptize you into the body of Christ?

No, this baptism into the body of Christ is not something a person feels. It is an invisible act of God performed the moment one believes the gospel, placing them into the body of Christ. It is received by faith, not by physical sensation or feeling.

Les teaches that this baptism is not something any organization or denomination can adhere to; it is beyond that, and only the invisible Almighty Spirit of God can do it. It happens the moment a person believes the gospel. One result of salvation is that immediately the Holy Spirit places the believer into the body of Christ, the whole worldwide congregation of genuine born-again people. Les explains that this is why believers are never strangers very long: you can go into a strange community and a group of genuine believers, and you are a stranger not over five minutes. He remembers being invited to central Iowa to teach a group of young people and not knowing a soul, but the minute he got into that living room full of kids, it was as if he had known them all his life. Yet this baptism is an invisible, unfeeling act of God. We cannot say we felt it being done; we take it by faith. Paul says all are placed into the body, whether Jew or Gentile, bond or free, weak or strong, rich or poor.
