What did God put inside Adam to connect him with God?
When God created Adam, He placed within him a spirit concept that would connect Adam with his Creator. That inner spirit gave Adam total and complete fellowship with God from the beginning, alongside the invisible personality—mind, will, and emotion—that God had given him.
Les teaches that the real person, or personality, is made up of mind, will, and emotion—an invisible entity we cannot see or analyze. He applies the same three attributes to the Godhead: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit each have mind, will, and emotion. In that area of personhood, mankind was created in God's image. When God created Adam, He gave him that invisible personality and also placed within Adam a spirit concept to connect him with his Creator, so Adam had total and complete fellowship with God right from the beginning.
