Does a person have to know the whole Bible or live a holy life before God will save them?
No. God does not require a person to know the Bible from cover to cover or to present a primary example of holy living before He will save. Christ's death already provided reconciliation and pardon for all sins, but the individual must appropriate that provision by simple faith like Abraham's.
Les teaches that God is not looking for someone who knows the Bible from cover to cover before he can be saved, nor is He looking for some primary example of holy living before He can save. The context explains that Gentiles now have a place of privilege and blessing, an opportunity to hear the Gospel and be saved, but not every Gentile will be saved. At the great white throne, the lost will not be able to say they never had a chance. Christ died and took care of all the sins of the world, and every human being has already been declared reconciled and pardoned so far as God is concerned. Yet until a person appropriates that provision with the kind of faith Abraham had, which was relatively simple, it is all for nothing.
