Can we fully understand how God forgives all our sins?

No. Forgiveness of all sins—past, present, and future—is beyond human comprehension. It is not understood by human reason but accepted by faith because Scripture teaches that all trespasses are forgiven through what Christ accomplished on our behalf, not by our works. Full understanding awaits glory.

Les teaches from Galatians 2:20 that Paul's statement “crucified with Christ” connects to the Gospel: Christ died for the sins of the world, was buried, and rose from the dead. Les emphasizes that when a person comes under that forgiveness, they are forgiven everything—past, present, and future—and will never come into God's presence with sin on their back, because it has all been paid for. He says this is beyond human comprehension; he cannot understand it but believes it because the Book teaches we have been forgiven all trespasses, not by anything we have done, but by what Christ accomplished on our behalf. That makes the Gospel simple yet complex, and it will never be fully understood this side of glory. Paul then says that though he is crucified by identification with Christ's death, he still lives, and the life he now lives in the flesh is lived by faith—or, as Les prefers, by the faithfulness of the Son of God.
