What did Christ do with the ordinances that were against us?

Christ blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, taking it out of the way and nailing it to His cross. Those ordinances were the law, especially the 613 rules and regulations, which were contrary to human nature.

Les explains from Colossians 2:14 that this is a graphic statement of the work of the cross. The handwriting of ordinances that was against us was the law, especially the law being practiced at the time of Christ, which had become a compilation of 613 rules and regulations. That law was contrary to us and to human nature. Christ took it out of the way and nailed it to His cross. Les then connects this to Galatians 2: once believing Jews like Paul saw that the old economy had been totally done away with, Paul would not rebuild again that which he had destroyed.
