What happened to the laws and ordinances that were against us?
The handwriting of ordinances that were against us and contrary to us was taken out of the way by Christ, nailed to the cross, and thereby ended. His love put Him on the cross, fulfilling the law, so the laws and ordinances against us were removed through His crucifixion.
Les teaches that the handwriting of ordinances that was against us and contrary to us was taken out of the way and nailed to the cross. That ended it. The law’s penalty was severe and drastic—death, no questions asked—but Christ was the fulfilling of the law, and His love put Him on the cross. Paul also rejoices in sufferings and fills up the afflictions of Christ in his flesh for His body’s sake, the church, made a minister according to the dispensation of God to fulfill the word of God.
