What did Peter preach to the nation of Israel in the book of Acts?
In the book of Acts, Peter repeatedly called the nation of Israel to repent for crucifying their Messiah. He proclaimed that God had raised Him from the dead, that He was alive, and that He remained able to return and be their King. Israel, however, continued in unbelief and rejection.
Les explains that Peter came out of the Jewish background, under the covenant promises and the law, and that nothing had changed except that Israel’s Messiah had appeared and presented Himself as their King, Redeemer, and Messiah. The nation for the most part rejected Him and crucified Him. In the book of Acts, Les teaches that Peter appeals to the nation of Israel over and over to still repent of the fact that they had crucified their Messiah, but that God had raised Him from the dead, and that He was alive and still in a position to come back and be their King. Yet Israel rejected Him and went on in unbelief until Acts chapter 9, when God saved Saul of Tarsus and announced that He would send him far hence to the Gentiles.
