What message did Peter preach to the nation of Israel in Acts 2?

Peter preached to Israel that the One they crucified was indeed the Christ, their King, their Messiah. He pressed this truth so they would recognize Jesus as Messiah. Many were convicted, and about 3,000 were present on the day of Pentecost.

Les explains that Peter's preaching in Acts 2 was directed to the nation of Israel, aiming to get across to them that the One they had crucified was truly the Christ, their King and Messiah. As a result, many were convicted, and verse 41 records 3,000 on the day of Pentecost. Then in verses 42 through 46, the believers sold everything they owned and put it into a common kitty. By verse 47 they were praising God and having favor with all the people. Les also notes that true Christianity behaves this way, not becoming contentious but standing for the truth without inviting controversy.
