Les Feldick Bible Study

How does God work when He is bringing about His purposes?

God works both ends to the middle, simultaneously working on different people for His purpose. While He worked on Saul outside Damascus, He also worked on Ananias inside the city. His call is by grace, revealing His Son, not by human doing, so the response is, 'Lord, what will you have me to do?'

Les explains that God always works both ends to the middle. While He was working on Old Saul outside the city, He was also working on Ananias in the city. Les points out that it is not by doing something, but once the Lord spoke to him, all he could say was, 'Lord, what will you have me to do?' And it hasn't changed one iota. Les connects this to Paul's testimony that it pleased God to call him by His grace, to reveal His Son in him, that he might preach Him among the heathen—meaning anyone not a Jew. Les emphasizes that in Bible study we must use references as much as possible to see that all of Scripture agrees, not just picking up a verse here and there to build ideas. So God works by grace and revelation, preparing hearts on both sides to accomplish His purposes.
