Why does Les Feldick encourage people to study the Word of God on their own?
The main thrust is to get people to study the Word of God on their own because it is the fastest way to spend an evening at home. It is preferable to watching television sitcoms, so one should turn off television and choose something truly worthwhile.
Les explains that the main thrust of his ministry is to get people to study the Word of God on their own, because it is the fastest way to spend an evening at home. He urges turning off the television and choosing something truly worthwhile. He contrasts this with sitcoms, noting that when he saw Super Bowl previews of such shows, he wondered how intelligent people could watch that kind of stuff. He adds that he and Iris haven't had television on a weekday night in years because they are traveling every night. He also acknowledges it is a free country and morality cannot be legislated.
