Where was Ephesus located, and to whom was the letter to the Ephesians written?

Ephesus was located on the western end of what is today Turkey, an ancient city in that region. The letter to the Ephesians was written to Ephesus and to the churches in that area. It was situated at the western edge of Turkey, while Galatia lay through the middle of the same land.

Les explains, using a hand-drawn map, that as you turn the corner of the Mediterranean Sea and go under the underbelly of what is today Turkey, Galatia was down through the middle of it. Out on the western end of Turkey was the ancient city of Ephesus, and the letter of the Ephesians was written to Ephesus and the churches in that area. He also notes that across the Aegean Sea were Philippi, Thessalonica, Berea, and Athens, while Corinth was across the Isthmus and Rome was across the Adriatic Sea in Italy.
