Who was Paul writing to in Ephesians, and where did they live?

Paul was writing to Gentile believers, the Ephesians, who lived in the western end of Asia Minor—the region known today as Turkey. These were believers in the area where Paul had ministered throughout the Book of Acts. So the epistle was addressed to them in that region.

Les explains that Paul is again writing to the Gentile believers in the area where he had ministered throughout the Book of Acts, in the western end of Asia Minor, or what is known today as Turkey. In Ephesians chapter 1, Les points to verse 7, where believers have redemption through Christ's blood and forgiveness of sins according to His grace, not what they deserve. Les also notes God's sovereign requirement of shed blood, since life is in the blood and new life comes through death, burial, and resurrection.
