Les Feldick Bible Study

What did Paul go through to bring the gospel to people who had never heard it, and what resulted?

Paul endured sufferings, beatings, imprisonments, and shipwrecks to take the Gospel to those who had never heard. As a result, people were established in the faith and small churches met in homes, though later all in Asia turned away from him.

Les explains that after all the sufferings, beatings, imprisonments, and shipwrecks, it must have been a heartache for the man to simply take the Gospel to people who had never heard, then see them established in it and churches established—not large ones. Les notes that Scriptural churches were just small assemblies meeting in homes, not the large churches and big buildings people often think of today. Then in II Timothy chapter 1, verses 15-16, Paul says that all they who are in Asia turned away from him. Les points out that Asia was primarily what today is Turkey.
