Why did Jesus not consider equality with God something to be grasped in Philippians 2:6?

Christ did not regard equality with God as something to be seized or robbed because He already possessed it by nature. Being in the form of God, He was God, so equality was not an external prize to grasp but His inherent identity.

Les teaches that Philippians 2:6 describes Christ Jesus as being in the form of God. He did not consider equality with God something to be grasped or robbery, because He was God. It was not a status He needed to seize; it was already His. Les says this is beyond human comprehension, yet it is what the Word declares. This sets up verse 7, where Christ, the God of creation, chose to become poor for our sakes—not only materially, having nowhere to lay His head, but far deeper in the spiritual realm.
