What does Philippians 2:7 say about Christ humbling Himself?

Philippians 2:7 says that although Christ was God, the omnipotent, omniscient Creator, He made Himself of no reputation and took the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. He agreed to be nothing more than a servant for our sake, which was His humbling.

Les explains that Philippians 2:7 follows the declaration that He was God, He is God, and there is no doubt about it. Though He was the omnipotent, omniscient Creator, He made Himself of no reputation and took upon Himself the form of a servant, agreeing to be nothing more than a servant for the sake of you and I. He was made in the likeness of men, not made like men—that was the big difference. Then verse 8 adds that, being found in fashion as a man, condescending to become a man, the very Creator God Himself lowered Himself, a little lower than the angels. He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death—not an ordinary death or a quick execution, but the most awful death ever contrived, the death of the cross. Crucifixion is just beyond us.
