Why was there no one who lacked among the believers in the early church in Acts 4?

No one among the believers lacked because those who owned lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds to the apostles. The apostles then distributed to each person according as he had need, so the community’s resources met everyone’s necessities.

Les teaches that in the early Jerusalem church, believers who possessed lands or houses sold them, brought the price of what was sold, and laid it at the apostles’ feet. Distribution was then made to every man according as he had need, which is why no one among them lacked. Les points to Barnabas, a Levite from the island of Cyprus, as an example: he sold his land, brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet. This occurred in the setting of Pentecost, when devout Jews from many nations had gathered in Jerusalem.

Acts 4:34

Acts 4:35
