Who is the originator of every lie?
The devil is the originator of every lie. Scripture identifies him as a murderer from the beginning who did not abide in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.
Les explains that Christ is the epitome of truth, and the devil is the direct opposite. Turning to John’s Gospel, chapter 8, verse 44, he shows Jesus speaking to the Jews of His day, saying they were of their father the devil and would do his desires. The devil was a murderer from the beginning and did not abide in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own; it originates with him, not with God. He is a liar and the father of it, the originator of every lie.
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
