Les Feldick Bible Study

What does the devil most like to do to a ministry?

The devil most likes to besmirch or put a smudge on a ministry. He targets any ministry—Paul's, another's, a local church, or a denomination—by convincing the world of its faults and failures, so that he and the world can gloat.

Les explains that there is nothing the devil likes better than to besmirch or put a smudge on a ministry—whether it is his own, someone else's, a local church, or a denomination. As soon as the devil can convince the world of our faults and failures, he gloats and the world gloats. Paul was constantly aware of that same danger and did not want anything to cause people to say, 'Well, look what he's doing.' He wanted to keep his ministry blameless as much as he possibly could, giving no offense in anything so the ministry of reconciliation could never be blamed.
