Who alone can accomplish the new work of creation in a believer?

God alone can accomplish the new work of creation in a believer. The new nature is an invisible, spiritual work that no human can touch or produce. Just as only God could put the old Adamic nature to death in crucifixion with Christ, only God can create the new nature and make a person a new creation.

Les teaches that when a person believes the Gospel, the Holy Spirit places him into the Body of Christ, making him a new creation and a work of God. The part that deals with eternity is invisible, and no human can touch that realm; only God can deal there. Les uses the old nature and new nature to illustrate: the old Adamic nature had to be crucified and put to death, a spiritual, invisible work only God could do. In the same way, only God can give the new creative personality, the new nature, because it too is in the invisible realm. Thus the new work of creation is something God alone can do.
