What would happen if Christians were as dedicated as the communist worker Les described?
If Christians were as dedicated as the communist worker described, they would put God's work first, serve faithfully beyond their jobs, and make His purposes central. The result would be a dramatically different world, because such commitment would transform how believers live and influence society.
Les teaches that believers should not expect everything to be a rose-petaled pathway; Christians still face trials, tribulations, pain, suffering, and sickness like anyone else. Yet they have the blessed assurance that the Lord is with them and they are not alone. He explains that God expects believers to live for Him as much as is within them, as He gives guidance and direction, but too many people are totally unconcerned—saying only that they are Christians, will not go to hell, and will go to heaven, and leaving it there. That is not what God wants. Les recalls reading about an ordinary communist factory worker during the era when communist Russia seemed like an unstoppable juggernaut. After work, the man went to communist headquarters and worked for the party until 10 or 11 at night; his family and everything else were second to his love for and pushing of communism. Les thought that if Christians would even come close to that dedication, what a different world we would be living in.
