Will Adam realize he has been dead 6,000 years when Resurrection Day comes?
No. In eternity there is no time, so although Adam has been dead 6,000 years, at Resurrection Day he will not suddenly realize he has been absent that long. It will seem to him as if only a matter of hours passed, because time is irrelevant in eternity.
Les explains that when a believer dies, their soul and spirit leave the body and go immediately into the Lord’s presence, where they wait for the great Resurrection Day. He notes that in eternity there is no time, so even though Adam has been dead 6,000 years, when Resurrection Day comes he won’t suddenly realize he’s been off the scene that long. It will be just as if it happened within a matter of hours, because time is irrelevant. Les also illustrates this by comparing it to taking a loved one to the train depot: one person boards a front car, while another later buys a ticket and boards a car at the end of the train.
