Les Feldick Bible Study

If Adam has been dead 6,000 years, will he feel like he has been gone a long time when he is resurrected?

No. In eternity there is no time, so although Adam has been dead 6,000 years, when the Resurrection Day comes he will not suddenly realize he has been off the scene that long. It will be just as if it happened within a matter of hours, because time is irrelevant.

Les teaches that in eternity there is no time. Even though Adam has been dead 6,000 years, when the Resurrection Day comes he won't suddenly realize that he's been off the scene that long; it will be just as if it happened within a matter of hours, because time is irrelevant. He applies this to departed loved ones: when they are reunited with us, they will not suddenly realize what a long time it has been. He also notes that as soon as a believer dies, the soul and spirit leaves the body and goes immediately into the presence of the Lord, and they are waiting for the great Resurrection Day, though the Bible is fairly silent about their present activity and state. He offers an illustration of taking a loved one to the train depot, getting them situated on a front car, and then buying a ticket and boarding a car at the end of the train.
