What did God say would happen to the little ones the Israelites feared would be prey in the wilderness?

God declared that the little ones the Israelites claimed would become prey would not be left in the wilderness. He promised, 'them will I bring in, and they shall know the land that you despised.' So the children would enter and know the land their parents had rejected.

Les explains that God directly answered the Israelites' fear: the children they said would be a prey, He would bring into the land, and they would know the land their parents despised. In Numbers 14, the people had proposed making a captain and returning to Egypt, but God's promise for the little ones stood. Les ties this to the human race today, noting that people make excuses and despise what God has promised, missing what He has made available.

Numbers 14:3

And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?
