What did God say life would be like for Israel when they were scattered among the nations?

Scripture says that among the nations Israel would find no ease: heart failing, sorrow of mind, life hanging in doubt, fear day and night, and no assurance of life. God would scatter them from the land, and their disobedience would bring these judgments.

Les teaches from Deuteronomy 28 that Moses spoke to Israel while they were still in the Sinai, before entering the Promised Land. The Lord had rejoiced to do them good and multiply them, but if they disobeyed, He would rejoice to destroy them and bring them to nothing. They would be plucked from the land and scattered. Among those nations they would find no ease, no heart, failing of eyes, sorrow of mind; their life would hang in doubt, they would fear day and night, and have no assurance of life. Les points back to verse 15: this would come if they would not hearken to the voice of the Lord their God.
