Why have denominations removed hymns that mention the blood from their songbooks?

Major denominations removed every hymn referencing the blood because liberal circles speak against the blood-bought way of salvation; they do not like it. Yet Scripture says without the shedding of blood there is no remission or forgiveness—an absolute that cannot be compromised or detoured.

Les explains that from liberal circles there are not very kind words about the blood-bought way of salvation. Over the last ten years, many denominations have taken every song out of their songbooks that has any reference to the blood; some major denominations have removed all such hymns. The reason, he says, is that they do not like it. But Hebrews 9:22 stands as an absolute that cannot be compromised or detoured: under the law almost all things were purged by blood, and for every human being today, without the shedding of blood there is no remission, no forgiveness. Les ties this back to the tabernacle: the high priest had to present the blood every year, and it was the only thing that opened the way for man to approach God. There is no other way, no approach to God other than the blood-sprinkled way. He also connects this to faith, saying without faith we cannot please Him, and without the shedding of blood we cannot please Him.
